21 People Shot, 4 Killed in Shootings Over the Weekend in Chicago: Police
More than 20 people were shot, including four people who died, between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday, according to the Chicago Police Department.
According to CPD data, 21 people were shot in 18 shooting incidents over the weekend in Chicago.
A 20-year-old woman was driving in the 300 block of South Homan Avenue at 11:37 p.m. Friday when she was shot in the head by an unknown offender. Police said she was initially reported in critical condition and transported to the Mount Sinai Medical Center where she later died.
A 33-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday. According to police, he was shot multiple times by the occupant of an unknown vehicle. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a 28-year-old was fatally shot after he exited a home in the 5000 block of West Washington Boulevard. The man had just walked outside at around 7:10 p.m. Saturday when witnesses heard gunshots. He was struck in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene.
Two people, a 27-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were each shot while inside at a gathering in the 5900 block of West North Avenue early Sunday morning. At around 12:06 a.m., an unknown offender began shooting, striking the man multiple times in his torso and the woman in the leg. The man was pronounced dead, while the woman was hospitalized in good condition.
