So writes Carol Fisher Saller in her book “The Subversive Copy Editor.” Often overlooked in favor of a quick Google search, Saller wants writers and editors to dust off their old dictionaries and keep them handy, and remember that dictionaries offer guidance on more than just definitions and spellings.
