The Chicago housing market is heating up. In some Chicago neighborhoods, the demand for single-family housing is so hot that two-flats are being snapped up and converted into single-family homes. In Lincoln Park, the average home price is $3.2 million and those homes are bought within days of being listed. Even homes with price tags of $10 million or more are moving. But if you're in the market for a condo, buyer beware: More buildings are banning smoking, even in owners’ units. We talk with Crain’s Chicago Business residential real estate reporter Dennis Rodkin about that and the new homebuyer disclosure rules starting October 1.
