Conscious Living World Fair
Make your way to Rosemont this weekend for the first Conscious Living World Fair. Enjoy more than 80 exhibits featuring aromatherapy, eco-living, massages, psychics, yoga, and more. The fair will be held all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. An International Feminine Empowerment Summit will be held Friday with speakers talking about relationships, taking control of your destiny, healthy lifestyles and more. Participate in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Yoga Chain.” Admission is $15.

Bears Meijer Family Fest
Head on over to Soldier Field this Saturday to see a Chicago Bears practice under the field’s lights. The event will also feature games, live music, and a fireworks show following the practice.  Activities will be held at Staley’s Corner, the Southwest Lawn located outside Gate 5 at Soldier Field, and the first 200 kids ages 4-12 to enter Staley’s Corner will have the chance to attend a post-practice autograph signing.  The outdoor activities begin at 3:00 pm, and the practice begins at 6:45 pm.  Tickets are priced at $8 and $12, and can be bought on the Chicago Bears website.

Abbamania
Swing by Glen Ellyn to see this world’s premier touring ABBA production this Friday.  Hits including “Waterloo,” “Mama Mia,” and “Dancing Queen” will be performed complete with choreographed dances and costume changes. Abbamania will take you back in time to when ABBA was on stage.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic to the concert, though food will be available for purchase from concession stands.  The free concert begins at 7:30 pm at the McAnich Arts Center.

Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire
Head on down to the Southwest side of Chicago this Saturday for the second annual Mini Maker Faire.  The Faire is a show-and-tell style event, encouraging Chicagoans to display their designs, whether they are home-style crafts or more scientific inventions.  The Faire also includes two workshops where attendees can learn to become ‘makers’ themselves.  Visit the Faire’s website to reserve your free ticket.  Doors open at 9:00 am. The Mini Maker Faire was discussed in our Scientific Chicago with Rabiah Mayas on Thursday.

A Walk in My Shoes
Chicago area high school seniors are invited to prepare for a successful first year of college at the annual Sowing S.E.E.D.S. college prep workshop.  Starting at 9:00 am this Saturday, the event includes food, giveaways, and information on time management and internships.  Students will also get the chance to hear this year’s keynote speaker, former Chicago Bears player Ray McElroy.
