IL General Assembly Overturns Quinn's Veto on Concealed Carry

Concealed carry is legal in Illinois, as the legislature deals another blow to Gov. Pat Quinn. Quinn called the legislature in for its second special session of the year, vowing "consequences" if no pension deal was passed. But legislators instead overturned his amendatory veto of concealed carry legislation. The House voted 77-31 to overturn Quinn's veto. View an interactive graphic of the House vote. The Senate voted 41-17 to overturn the veto. View an interactive graphic of the Senate vote. Chicago Sun-Times Springfield Bureau Chief Dave McKinney has more details from today's special session on Chicago Tonight at 7:00 pm.
