In March 1960, WTTW aired a program called A Show Is Born. It was directed by William Friedkin. Shot at Channel 11’s original studios in the Museum of Science and Industry, A Show Is Born gives a behind-the-scenes look at how a TV program is assembled from start to finish. The show is introduced by legendary columnist Irv Kupcinet, narrated by DJ Ken Nordine (who Friedkin later considered hiring for the voice of the demon in The Exorcist) and features performances from Anita Bryant.
