Prosecutors in Douglas County, Kansas, charged Terrence Shannon Jr. on Dec. 5 with rape or an alternative count of sexual battery. After an arrest warrant was issued, the university suspended him on Dec. 28 from “all team activities, effective immediately.”

The university confirmed that the Douglas County District Attorney’s office in Kansas issued an arrest warrant for Shannon on Wednesday. He has since turned himself in to police in Lawrence, Kansas, posted bail and is now returning to Illinois.

The Illinois student spirit group “Orange Krush” had its order for 200 tickets to the men’s basketball game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday canceled Wednesday after Iowa discovered the person who made the purchase falsely claimed the tickets were for a Boys and Girls Club in Champaign.
