Candidate Forum: Cook County Assessor

The race for Cook County Assessor has garnered lots of attention this year. Two candidates who want the job square off: Democrat Joe Berrios and Independent Forrest Claypool.

Links to candidate websites (in ballot order):

CORRECTION: During our Cook County Assessor's candidate forum, we asked Joe Berrios about more than $100 thousand dollars in political contributions from House Speaker Michael Madigan and his law firm over the last decade. The premise of that question was in error. According to the Chicago News Cooperative, those contributions came from lawyers connected to the law firm of Finkel, Martwick & Colson. The Berrios campaign says Michael Madigan and his firm have contributed only $7,750 over the past ten years. Chicago Tonight regrets the error.
