(FBI Chicago)
The FBI is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect sought in connection with the shooting of an armed vehicle guard outside a Brighton Park bank branch last month.
Chicago’s FBI Field Office on Friday said it is offering up to $10,000 for information, weeks after a 49-year-old guard was shot and wounded outside a Chase Bank branch in the 4300 block of South Archer Avenue.
That shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. on Dec. 23. According to authorities, the guard was standing outside when he was approached by an unknown man who demanded money before firing shots.
The guard was struck twice, once in each thigh, and was hospitalized in critical condition, according to Chicago police. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle and has not yet been apprehended.
The FBI described the suspect as a Black male with a slim and athletic build. He was seen wearing a dark puffer jacket, dark balaclava-style face mask, dark sunglasses, dark pants and dark athletic shoes.
He was also seen in a bronze Hyundai Elantra sedan with tinted windows, according to the FBI, which has published photos of the suspect.
