President-elect Donald Trump says higher tariffs are coming with the nation’s top trading partners on Day 1 of his new administration. What that could mean for the local economy.

Chicago would also see an impact if Trump’s border czar Tom Homan’s plans for mass deportations come to fruition.

And as Illinois leaders are preparing for what a new Trump administration may bring, they say the state will continue to be a refuge for those whose rights are being denied elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Chicago has a month left to get a budget passed.
