Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade Will Roar Through Chicago on Sunday

One of Chicago’s quirkier holiday traditions returns for its 46th year on Sunday with the annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade.
Tens of thousands of bikers are expected to take part in the 20-mile ride along Western Avenue, which is billed as the “largest motorcycle parade in the world.” The cost of entry: at least one new unwrapped toy to donate.
The first wave of riders will set out at 9:30 a.m. from Dan Ryan Woods at 83rd Street and Western Avenue. Roughly 90 minutes later, the vanguard should reach the endpoint at the parking lot of the DePaul College Prep/Lane Tech campus on Western Avenue, just south of Addison Street.
Successive groups of riders will follow at 15- to 20-minute intervals in order to allow gaps for motorists and pedestrians to cross, but avoiding Western is advised.
The entire event should wrap up by 4 p.m.
