Dennis Hastert, whose legacy as Congress’ longest-serving Republican House speaker was later fouled by allegations that he had molested high school athletes during his prior career as a teacher and wrestling coach, has died, a coroner said Monday.
Records show the department is standing by Alex Wolinski even after an appellate court upheld his termination. Anjanette Young criticized the move: “They knew he had this misconduct on his record and hired him anyway. Reform means nothing if another department will just hire them anyway.”
A 7-year-old girl was fatally stabbed while walking in front of businesses in the Chatham neighborhood, and people nearby detained the woman who attacked her, police said.
