If you’ve always wanted a ‘BDASMOM’ license plate, we’ve got bad news for you.

More than 550 personalized license plate requests were denied by the Illinois Secretary of State’s office this year after it deemed them inflammatory, profane, offensive or too difficult to read.

Some of the license plate requests added to the rejection list this year include: BBL, BLUBALN, BRICKED, IBPOOPN, ICUP, PRIUSSY, SNDNUDZ, SYBAU and TYPESHT.

“As always, we appreciate the creativity of Illinoisans who want customized license plates, but they must meet certain standards of good taste and decency,” Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said in a video announcing some of this year’s rejected plates.

In the video, Giannoulias poked fun at some of the plates and tried to explain what some of them meant.

“BLUBALN,” Giannoulias said. “I don’t think they’re referring to DePaul’s basketball program.”

More than 8,550 license plate combinations are on an ever-growing rejection list, according to the office.

The office received 55,690 applications for new vanity and personalized plates this year. Illinois vehicle owners pay an extra $94 for a new vanity plate, which contains all letters. A new personalized plate, which is a combination of letters and numbers, is an additional $47.

“Go ahead and get creative, but please keep it clean, and avoid ending up on the naughty list,” Giannoulias said.

Last year, rejected plate requests included: HOKTUAH, GYATT, MUNCH, BICHIN, JAGWEED, BADARSE, AXEHOLE, ILLCUTU, HOHOHOE, ABADMF, WEENIE, DUCKOFF and THICCAF.
