Dead Body Pulled From Lake Michigan Near Indiana Dunes, Authorities Ask for Help With Identification

Officials are asking for help identifying the body of a person pulled from Lake Michigan along the Indiana Dunes shore over the weekend.

A fisherman alerted authorities after discovering the body Saturday morning, approximately 2 miles offshore from Central Beach, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The person appears to have been missing for an extended period of time, officials said. 

To help assist with identification, authorities have released a photo of a “unique ring” found on the person's right index finger. 

Additionally, the person was wearing red and black pajama pants and black socks. 

Indiana Conservation Officers and the Porter County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
