Got a holiday spending hangover?

Brookfield Zoo has the cure, with free admission now through Feb. 27 on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Stretch your legs across the zoo’s 235 acres, and pop inside exhibit areas like the Swamp and Living Coast to escape the chill.

One advantage of visiting during slower winter months: smaller crowds. That means there likely won’t be a line to see Brookfield’s new koalas, Brumby and Willum, who are experiencing their first Chicago winter. Wait until they learn about false spring and second winter.

Parking fees still apply on free days. Prices range from free to $7 for members and $17-$20 for non-members arriving by car.
