The Cleve Carney Museum of Art’s WARHOL show features more than 200 original works by Andy Warhol. Learn more about the iconic artist through recreations, videos and interactive exhibits and installations.

3. Gather

Ahead of Monday’s holiday, people are celebrating Juneteenth with festivals and fairs. The Juneteenth Village Fest will include musical performances from Angie Stone and Talib Kweli, among other; expect food vendors, carnival rides and activities for all ages. At the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Freedom Market will feature more than 50 local Black-owned businesses; there’ll be live entertainment and a welcome cocktail at the 21+ event. Bronzeville’s Juneteenth Celebration is a family-friendly event with interactive activities, plus historians and local vendors and artists on site. And for kids, the Bronzeville Children’s Museum is hosting the Juneteenth Jubilee with storytelling, crafts and a balloon release.

4. Run

The Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate brings together thousands of people each year for 5K, 10K and youth races. All proceeds go toward the YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s work to promote racial justice and prevent violence. Registration is available at these locations.

5. Observe

Watch local artists transform a 600-foot sea wall at the 30th annual Artists of the Wall in Rogers Park. More than 150 murals will be painted at the two-day event, which includes live music and a kids’ tent. Can’t make it this weekend? The art will be on display until next year’s event, when the work is covered to make way for new murals.
