Chicago just raised the trick-or-treat stakes. Forget those mini candy bars, the city’s handing out 10-pound blocks of chocolate.

There’s just one catch. There are only five of the super-sized bars from Blommer, and they’re being dangled as the top prize in the city’s Halloweek costume contest.

The competition is open to Chicago residents (and their pets), running Oct. 23-31. Entering is as simple as posting a photo — in costume — to Instagram and tagging @ChicagoParks. Alternatively, images can be uploaded to www.chicagohalloweek.org.

Only one entry is permitted per person. Submitted photos will be featured on @ChicagoParks and @MyChiMyFuture Instagram accounts throughout the week. (Parents who submit photos of their children are giving permission for use of the images.)

The five winners will be chosen at random and announced Nov. 2.
