Chicago-based real estate investment trust Ventas reaches a $3.2 billion deal for more senior housing. The city is investing in North Lawndale by chipping in to build 250 single family homes. And the Illinois Historic Sites Advisory Council and state officials are at odds over seeking national landmark status for the Thompson Center in Chicago.
