The Week in Review: Schools Closed, Events Canceled as COVID-19 Spreads


As health officials on Friday confirmed 14 additional cases of coronavirus in Illinois, bringing to 46 the total number cases in the state, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced that all K-12 schools, including Chicago Public Schools, will be closed from March 17-30.

Illinois’ primary elections, however, will continue as planned on Tuesday. One poll shows Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx with a 16-point lead over other Democratic candidates in that race, who debated each other during our “Chicago Tonight” candidate forum Thursday.
