As health officials on Friday confirmed 14 additional cases of coronavirus in Illinois, bringing to 46 the total number cases in the state, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced that all K-12 schools, including Chicago Public Schools, will be closed from March 17-30.
Illinois’ primary elections, however, will continue as planned on Tuesday. One poll shows Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx with a 16-point lead over other Democratic candidates in that race, who debated each other during our “Chicago Tonight” candidate forum Thursday.
And both Democratic presidential candidates former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders canceled recent public events in Illinois due to coronavirus concerns.
