Desmond Clark Says Family is Victim of Racism

He thrilled Bears fans as the versatile and reliable tight end from 2003-2011, and was part of the 2006 Super Bowl season.

But now, Desmond Clark and his wife Maria face trouble off the field, stemming from an Aug. 29 altercation at their son's high school in Vernon Hills. The Clarks are charged with disorderly conduct, but they and their attorney say they are the victims of racism and have been subject to racist behavior in Vernon Hills for years. The Clarks are due in court on Monday. The former Bear joins us to share his side of the story.

"What I've learned from this situation is that there is racism out there, and you know it's out there, but when you are faced with it, it brings on a whole different reality to it," Clark told Paris Schutz during the interview. "But I also want people to understand that we've come a long way but there's still a long ways to go."
