Navigating the Adult World of Health Care Needs

La Rabida Children’s Hospital Offers Vital Program

For much of their lives, students with special health needs have had parents do everything for them to manage doctors’ appointments, prescription refills and health insurance questions. But as those students grow up, they must learn to care for themselves. And for families of teens with complex, cognitive needs, finding a doctor to care for them, is a challenge. Brandis Friedman has more on a program at La Rabida Children’s Hospital designed to help both those teens and their families make a smooth transition.

Watch an interview with Sabrina Jones, a former patient of the La Rabida program.
