Chicago fashion designer Maria Pinto teamed up with the Field Museum for a fashion exhibit about cross-cultural clothing. Pinto carefully selected items from the museum’s collection to be displayed with her own contemporary pieces. The exhibit opens Friday at the Field Museum and runs through Sunday, June 16, 2013. The museum is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm every day except Christmas. General admission is $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 3-11, and $12 for students and seniors (65+). Cultivate Chicago
Chipotle Mexican Grill celebrates its second annual Cultivate Chicago. This culinary festival features cooking demonstrations by 12 chefs throughout the day, including: Richard Blais, Amanda Freitag and Paul Kahan. Chipotle will serve a selection of dishes specially made for the festival, and live entertainment will feature G. Love & Special Sause and Allen Stone. An artisan tent will have local food samplings and a tasting tent with local and specialty beers and wine. The festival takes place this Saturday at Lincoln Park from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, and admission is free.

Chicago Summer Dance
Take advantage of the nice weather and put your dancing shoes on to celebrate Chicago Summer Dance’s final weekend. Come show off your best dance moves on a huge, open-air dance floor in Grant Park. Before each dance session, professional instructors give a one-hour introductory dance lesson. Get ready to step with the National Steppers Society on Friday, and on Saturday learn how to belly dance with Laura Riebock, featuring Magic Carpet performing Ethiopian funk and World Jazz fusion. Dance lessons start at 6:00 pm with live entertainment following till 9:30 pm. Admission is free.

Hops & Barley: Pubs & Microbreweries
Craft beers are all the rage, and Chicago has some of the best new microbreweries. Learn the craft of beer-making by going behind-the-scenes at a local microbrewery while also enjoying samples. The tour features visits to 2-3 local brew pubs in the city. The brew tour is this Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm. Tickets are $55 (21+).

Best Of The Second City
See some of the best material from The Second City, one of Chicago’s premier comedy clubs/theater and school of improvisation. From the company that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and more, comes the next generation of comedy’s best. The show features sketches, songs and their trademark improvisation. Food and drinks are available throughout the show. The performance runs on select dates through December. Tickets range from $16-22.

Riot Fest
This late summer festival takes place at the Congress Theater Friday, and then relocates to Humboldt Park on Saturday and Sunday. Featured artists include: Neon Trees and the Offspring on Friday, Rise Against, Dropkick Murphys and Coheed and Cambria on Saturday, and Gogol Bordello and Iggy and the Stooges on Sunday. Tickets start at $40.
