Led by Prime Minister David Cameron, the United Kingdom runs NATO’s second largest military. Over the past few years, the country’s position in global security has been inextricably linked to America’s position. During a visit to the U.S. in March, David Cameron declared the U.K.’s alliance with the U.S “the strongest it’s ever been.” Together, President Obama and Prime Minister Cameron vowed to complete the mission in Afghanistan, saying the upcoming withdrawal is “achievable.”
