Andy Williams Jr.

Candidate for Illinois Attorney General

Candidate Q&A

Why are you running?

I am running to restore the power back to the people, uphold the constitution, and to enforce accountability and transparency in government.

What skills or experience do you have that make you particularly suited to this position?

I have been in the legal advocacy field for over 3 decades. Started as a jailhouse lawyer and then worked in several law firms, including an international one. I have litigated against the government for infringing upon the peoples rights for the last 20 years.

What does this office do well, and what needs fixing?

It does well being an advocate for the current governor. It needs to be more of an advocate to protect the people’s rights from government infringement.

What is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?

Taxes. Repealing unconstitutional legislation.

Is there a major policy initiative or financial issue you will look to tackle in the next year?

Parental rights are being infringed upon and the government has exceeded its role. I’ll make sure the government has less involvement with family and parental rights.

If you are elected, what would the end of a successful four-year term look like for you?

Less taxes, a restorative justice system in the Illinois Department of Corrections which will reduce crime and recidivism, a more honest and ethical government, and less party division.

What specific steps would you take to ensure your office is accessible and responsive?

Monthly town halls across the state to ensure people understand their rights. We will collaborate with county state’s attorneys to teach and answer questions for the community and be more transparent.
