Harvesting Haricot Vert

Earlier this week I spotted hidden Haricot Vert of varying sizes, with some of the French Filet beans appearing to be ready for harvest.

Jeanne Nolan recommended harvesting the beans when they are young and tender, around 3-4 inches in length. During her visit on Wednesday, we were able to harvest a handful.

“For beans, I recommend you harvest with two hands,” she said. “The more you harvest the beans, the more the plant will produce.”

Even if you don’t plan on eating the beans, she recommends harvesting them in order to keep the crop producing.
