Squirrels and chipmunks will dig up newly transplanted plants, and eat tomatoes and strawberries.
Remedies
Squirrels are smart and will find a way to your veggies. However, sprinkling cayenne pepper around your garden, and/or spraying plants with water with diluted hot sauce may teach them to stay away. But the deterrent must be reapplied after a rain.
Rabbits

Rabbits will munch on greens and beans.
Remedies
Rabbits are easily dealt with by surrounding your garden with a rabbit-proof fence. This can either ring your property or just your individual plot. Low-investment rabbit proofing includes T-posts and chicken fencing; of course, it can always be made with cedar posts and 1⁄4-inch fencing, but the cost will go up accordingly. Be sure to check the fencing periodically and especially after winter to make sure there are no entry points.
Deer

If given the opportunity, deer will eat any of the crops planted in your garden.
Remedies
Constructing a deer-proof fence at least 5 to 8 feet tall, depending on the size of the deer population, will keep your plants protected from deer.
