Candidate Q&A
Why are you running?
My main goal is to propose a constitutional amendment that would say that each human life begins at conception.
What do you think is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?
The most pressing issue is high federal tax rates. I want to greatly cut federal spending. Since the federal government would need less money, the same bill would cut tax rates. That would let all Americans have more money.
What is one unique challenge your district faces and how do you plan to address it?
That district has a high poverty rate. It might be challenging to help decrease that. If I succeed in cutting tax rates, that should cause a lot of business owners to hire more people, all over the country, including in the 7th District.
What do you think federal immigration reform should look like?
Congress should pay for a tall, brick wall, on the Mexican border. ICE should try to arrest and deport all illegal aliens who are guilty of other crimes, other than just being illegal aliens.
How should Congress address the rising costs of health care?
If Congress cuts tax rates, for all taxpayers, including businesses, that should cause some hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies to decrease their prices. Some of those companies won’t cut their prices, quickly, but, since the companies compete with one another, the competition will cause them to cut prices to attract patients.
What approach would you take on tax policy and what is your top priority?
Congress should end all credits, deductions, and exemptions. The same bill would cut tax rates, for all taxpayers, ensuring that the majority of taxpayers will pay less, in federal income taxes, compared to now. The tax form would be one page, and no one would pay someone to file their taxes. My top priority would be ensuring that the tax rates would be low and simple.
Is the House currently using its oversight powers in the way it should be? What areas of government need more or less oversight?
Yes, they’re using the oversight powers very well.
What is the most pressing foreign policy issue facing the country and what role should the House play in dealing with it?
The most pressing foreign policy issue is the possibility that China might invade Taiwan. The House should ensure that the Dept. of Defense has at least the current funding so that our navy and marines can keep sending people, in that area, to deter the Chinese.
How do you view AI and the role the government should play in its regulation?
AI could help people create videos that libel or slander, since they can imply that someone did something that he or she didn’t do. Federal and state courts should punish people who intentionally libel or slander, by using AI.
How would you describe the current state of your party and what changes or new approaches would you like to see your party adopt?
The Republican Party is very popular. President Trump is a Republican. Republicans control both houses of Congress and the majority of governors. I hope all Republicans will agree with my idea that would ban abortion.
