Warm Weather Continues to Fuel Growth
The hot, humid weather over the past week has allowed our plants to thrive. Less than a month after planting, I spotted several radishes poking out of the soil.
Prior to planting, Jeanne Nolan said that radishes mature very quickly, and she recommended pulling one at around three weeks to evaluate its size.
Tomorrow, a member of The Organic Gardener will stop by and we’ll check on our radishes to see if they are ready for harvest since it has been about three weeks since planting. Nolan recommends harvesting radishes when they reach approximately 1-2 inches in diameter.
In addition to the radishes, a few sungold tomatoes have started to grow as well as a jalapeño pepper – a heat-loving crop.
