John Booras

Candidate for US House - 3rd District

Candidate Q&A

Why are you running?

To be the voice and representation of the people of the state of Illinois and America.

How has your district been impacted by the migrant crisis and what do you think should be done?

Every month the city of Chicago is spending $50,0000,000 to offset this immigration crisis that is flowing into not only the Cook County portion of the my district, but the DuPage County portion as well. I am a big believer in humanitarianism, this has opened a Pandora's Box that will take years for taxpayers to recover from.

What do you think immigration reform in Congress should look like?

I believe in legal immigration. I do not believe in open borders. Everyone has a right to citizenship, but that has to be done legally, and I do believe in the possibility of helping to expedite legal immigration in order to serve more people in need.

How important is bipartisanship to you and what issues have you worked on across the aisle or with people who don't uniformly share your beliefs?

I believe bipartisanship is more important now than ever before. We have to put people over politics in order to get the job done for the residents in my district.

What action, if any, do you want to see next on abortion access after the Dobbs decision?

I want to protect States rights to make decisions on reproductive rights issues above the Federal Government.
