Candidate Statement

Hi, my name is Sidney Moore and I’m running for the office of Secretary of State for the great state of Illinois. Illinois should be the leader in innovation and technology. By optimizing online services, we can reduce long lines and create better services at the DMV. Today almost everyone is using online services from banking online, shopping online, and during the pandemic our children were educated online.

Technology is no longer the wave of the future, it is the now, so we must improve in that area while preserving jobs. I have traveled across this great state, and I have spoken to many people about their concerns:
1. The long lines at the DMV,
2. Were the cost of licensing, license plates and stickers,
3. Some were concerned about their license being suspended for a debt, making it more difficult to find employment.
4. Voting rights. Let’s make it clear. I will fight to protect the rights of every Illinois citizen's right to vote while rooting out corruption.

I want to let you know, I am not a politician. I never played the political game. Illinois needs a public servant, not another politician.

Now, a little about me. I have been married for 40 years, a father of six and 19 grandkids. I’ve worked all my life, and for the last 30 years I have been an entrepreneur and a business owner.

I believe the sum-total of my life experiences have prepared me for this office. And I’m ready to serve the citizen of Illinois. I will work with you, for you and alongside you.

On June the 28th, vote Sidney Moore for Secretary of State.

Thank you.

Candidate Q&A

Why are you running?

Since 2018 I had made a conscious decision to throw my hat into the race to become the next Secretary of State. I am running for the office of Secretary of State to protect the right and privileges of all citizens of Illinois from operating a motor vehicle to protecting the right to vote. I believe everyone has a responsibilities to participate in some kind of civic work. I believe my life experience and destiny brought me here today at this moment of time

What does this office do well, and what needs fixing?

What is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?

High Fees and long lines. We will be able to significantly reduce the long lines by bringing on technology and utilizing resources and infrastructure already available. We will advocate on behalf of citizen and find a way through normal legislative acts to help find a way not to increase fees on services.

What specific steps would you take to ensure your office is accessible and responsive to your constituents?

I want to create a Public Affair division and within that office will be a constituent service person that will handle complaints in real time, setup meeting with the SOS or he or she will personally take steps to resolve any issues our constituent may have.
