Candidate Statement
My name is Michael Rebresh, and I'm running for Congress in the 16th Illinois Congressional District.
I'm a Conservative Republican that has had enough of the same career politicians failing to stand for the values that we in the Republican Party hold dear. These politicians have failed their responsibility to uphold and protect our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, to defend our Freedom of Speech and our right to bear arms. They have failed to protect our civic responsibility and the right to vote in or out those who we permit to govern us.
I am running to be successor to Adam Kinzinger, who for years has attacked his fellow Republicans and President Trump and believes that everything is Trump's fault. The constituents of the 16th district deserve better than that.
I am not rich, I am not an elite. I am not even the son of a career politician. I'm a loving husband, and a father of 3 and I drive an 18 wheeler over the road for a living.
Today, taxes are on the rise. Inflation is skyrocketing, our jobs have fled to China and we’re begging for oil from the Middle East!
Our seniors are suffering from a lack of quality, affordable health care and medicine. Our children and veterans are dying at record rates from suicide and overdose.
Our southern border is being overrun with immigrants who are undocumented and unvaccinated, while we have to provide proof of our private medical information to go out to eat.
Parents are battling tyrannical school boards who indoctrinate our children with perverse ideology and morality.
We need a plan to save America, to restore our economy to bring to justice the drug cartels and the political cartels infusing violence on the streets. We must protect our sovereignty by providing strong borders and a stronger national defense. We need Term limits on Congress and the elimination of pensions for any and all “elected” officials.

Why are you running?
To remove the stain of Kinzinger from the 16th district and ensure that RINOS no longer hold office. This country needs fresh voices in Congress that come from the ground floor and not the elite hierarchy of generational politics.
What does this office do well, and what needs fixing?
This office needs rational, logical dedicated servants to public office for a short period of time and then move on. Term Limits is key to the future of this country. No man or woman should hold high office for more than 12 years. It is public service, not a career and as such, pensions for elected officials should be eliminated as well.
What is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?
Taxation and Inflation. Number one priority with regards to this issue is NO MORE PORK. If it is a Bill to fix Infrastructure, then infrastructure is the only thing funded. No more spending taxpayer money on learning to talk to dolphins, no more money to give Japanese quail cocaine and any other stupid PORK project like it. Reduce the spending. Period.
What specific steps would you take to ensure your office is accessible and responsive to your constituents?
Staff priority is to respond to issues brought to the office within 24 hours. Not saying a solution is forthcoming in 24hrs, but a response and acknowledgement I would demand of my staff. We work for the people, not for ourselves.
