Why are you running?
To bring common sense to the State’s budget.
What does this office do well, and what needs fixing?
It monitors State expenditure. At present the accounting is at best obscure, at worst dishonest.
What is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?
Getting the State’s expenditures under control. The comptroller can’t do it alone, but she can tell the public and the politicians where the bodies are buried.
What specific steps would you take to ensure your office is accessible and responsive to your constituents?
Hiring competent accountants and supervising them closely.
