Candidate Statement

Hello, I’m Anna Biedrzycki, candidate for Cook County Commissioner in the 6th District. I’m a seven-year resident of Palos Hills where I reside with my husband and our two children.

I’m running for commissioner to put families first.  As commissioner, I will apply my professional experience to provide critical oversight to the county’s multi-billion health care system.

We must make sure Cook County delivers world class health care while providing it in the most professional, compassionate and fiscally responsible manner.

What does it mean to put families first? It means addressing the issues that impact families every single day.

Today, families are facing rising inflation, making it difficult to buy groceries, put gas in their cars, pay their utility bills, and much more.

Cook County needs to do more to cut taxes, cut fees and reign in spending whenever possible. The financial squeeze on families is at its most difficult point right now and it’s taking a toll on its families.

The property tax system is broken, but what is worse is that there is no political will or political leadership offering to tackle the most pressing and costly issue facing our residents.

As commissioner, I will make property tax reform a priority and work collaboratively with state officials to find a long term solution to our broken property tax system.

Our residents want a safe and secure environment for their families.

Unfortunately, our government has done the opposite. They have attempted to disguise their ‘soft on crime’ policies as “criminal justice reform” which it certainly is not.

Rising crime in Cook County has families fearful. This is unacceptable.

Violent offenders cannot be returned to the streets so quickly and easily. As commissioner, I will advocate for stronger policies that strengthen the prosecution and sentencing of our criminals.

They will have the opportunity to elect a candidate who will support policies that put Cook County families’ interests ahead of big government, special interests and criminals.

I will be a commissioner who stands with law enforcement and stands for safe communities.

I’m Anna Biedrzycki, and I ask for your vote.

Candidate Q&A

Why are you running?

I am running for commissioner for our children, for their education, increase reading, writing and arithmetic and the safety of our children and residents.

What does this office do well, and what needs fixing?

The county does a great job to keep our streets and highways looking clear of potholes and obstructions. Also, they keep the forest preserves and recreation areas clean. The areas that need fixing are safety, court systems, crime rate and education system.

What is the most pressing issue facing your constituents and how do you plan on addressing it?

The most pressing issue is crime. I plan on fixing this issue by putting common sense and public safety policies in place.

What specific steps would you take to ensure your office is accessible and responsive to your constituents?

I would run my office like I run my family. When family needs me, I will be there. I will ensure I hear peoples comments and concerns.
