About this Race: The city clerk is responsible for keeping the official records of the city government. The clerk’s office issues business licenses, vehicle stickers and parking permits. The current clerk is Anna Valencia, who was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel when Susana Mendoza won the 2016 special election for Illinois comptroller.
