From cemeteries to hot dogs, Geoffrey Baer investigates a slew of Chicago mysteries in a new WTTW special.
Did a UFO really hover above O’Hare International Airport and shoot straight up through the clouds? How did an alligator get into the Humboldt Park lagoon? What is the “devil baby” and is Jane Addams’ Hull-House haunted?
Baer and a team of investigators set out on a quest to solve a mixed bag of nearly two dozen baffling headscratchers in “Chicago Mysteries.”
“We wanted a range of mysteries, so there’s the true crime, there’s the paranormal,” Baer said. “And then, as we worked on it more and more, we realized there’s this element of fun … and we really kind of leaned into the fun. It’s the most fun show I’ve ever done.”
“Chicago Mysteries” premiered Tuesday.
