A Cook County judge on Thursday issued a $10,000 I-bond to 52-year-old Bruce Dyker, meaning the ex-officer will not need to put up any money to be released as he awaits trial on charges of aggravated battery and official misconduct.

Bruce Dyker has been charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, after he was allegedly seen on video grabbing a woman at North Avenue Beach.

A Cook County judge has scheduled a hearing this summer to determine if an attorney that actor Jussie Smollett has hired will be allowed to represent him following allegations of a possible conflict of interest involving that attorney and the two brothers Smollett allegedly hired to carry out a hoax attack.

An internal investigation by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office found a “breakdown of communication” and other issues were responsible for the inadvertent mischaracterization of the Adam Toledo shooting in a hearing last month.

A little over a month after she won reelection, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx was officially sworn in. Following the ceremony, she reflected on the challenges of 2020 and looked ahead to the next four years.
