The reporting on this piece was extremely poor, not up to PBS standards.
We listeners were left scratching our heads as to what the story really was.
I got the feeling that Carol Marin was so interested in making this a high drama issue that she forgot what the story was or didn't care as long as she could get emotional about it (something she often does). This is not the mark of fair and impartial reporting.
On a substantive basis, I have done some additional research and find the public policy question at the heart of this issue well worth insightful public discusseion: when renting office space to conduct the public's business, why and when should one public entity have to pay a tax to another public entity in addition to paying the rent required?
Unfortunately, Channel 11 didn't provide us with any insights into this issue tonight.
