Candidate Q&A

What is your vision for this office?

The true power of an Alderman is in the ability to educate, organize, and resource the community, one must purpose to open every level of Chicago Government to the dreams and agendas set forth by the constituents as a representative. I want to restore the honor of Precinct Captains and use participatory budgeting to inspire a proactive and aware approach to solving the issues in our community while reinforcing independence as a councilman for a responsive Mayor. I believe with community driven safety programs, activities, education planning, coordinated economic development with contingency planning, and strong block clubs conscious of even our carbon footprint, when a vote is cast in city hall it represents consistent input from a well-connected community who can secure private investment from proper planning. I want to continue to give a voice to the voiceless and resource those ready to tackle any task as we create the most skilled labor force in the city.

What is the most pressing issue facing constituents, and how can you help address it?

Blight, Crime, and Quality food choices are the leading concerns expressed by the community. We will release a detailed plan at the launch of our website www.JedidiahBrown.com in the coming weeks so be sure to visit frequently.
