A former Chicago police officer allegedly seen harassing a woman at North Avenue Beach in a viral video last year has been charged with multiple felonies stemming from that incident.
Bruce Dyker has been charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, after he allegedly grabbed a woman who had been walking her dog near the beach last August.
Dyker was placed on administrative duties days after the incident and reportedly retired from the Chicago Police Department in recent weeks.
Attorneys for Nikkita Brown, the victim in this case, said last year Brown was traumatized by the incident, which they described as an "obvious case of racial profiling."

The incident occurred at around 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 28, 2021. In video shared widely on social media, Brown can be seen walking away from the officer, who appears to be attempting to make her leave the area.
The video shows she and the officer exchange words, and after Brown stops walking and looks down at her phone, the officer grabs her arm and attempts to restrain her. Brown can be heard screaming as the officer twists her around.
After more than a minute, the officer lets go of Brown, and they walk away in opposite directions.
In a statement Monday, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office said it could not comment on "pending litigation" but added that it "makes charging decisions and brings cases in front of a grand jury based on the facts, evidence and the law."
Dyker is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing Thursday.
