Car owners have been getting a pass in 2020 when it comes to ignoring street sweeping signs, but the city’s well of benevolence has run dry and enforcement goes back into effect Wednesday.

The familiar orange signs, treated during the state’s stay-at-home order like an “if it wouldn’t trouble you too much” request, are once again an order. The Department of Streets and Sanitation expects people to move their cars, and will ticket those who don’t. The fine is $60.

Each ward’s street sweeping schedule is posted online, and Streets and San’s Sweeper Tracker map also updates sweeper locations in real time on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
