Chicago Businesses Start to Reopen — But Not Everyone is Ready


Despite days of protests, some which turned destructive, Mayor Lori Lightfoot says the message from business owners is clear: they want to reopen. 

On Wednesday, Chicago moved into phase three of its reopening plan. Nonessential retail stores, child care centers, salons and restaurants with outdoor seating are among the businesses that can start to open as the city loosens restrictions aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19. But not everyone is ready to open their doors.
