Help Fight COVID: Donate Vital Health Care Supplies This Weekend at United Center

As the number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 continues to rise in Chicago and Illinois, essential protective gear and supplies needed to keep health care workers safe are becoming scarce.

Residents are being asked to donate personal protective equipment, and other items this weekend during a collection drive held at the United Center in partnership with the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks, as well as Project C.U.R.E. and Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.

Donations can be dropped off from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in Lot F at Damen Avenue and Monroe Street. Items will then be distributed to health care providers in Illinois.

Items must be new and in unopened boxes, containers or wrappers. 

The list of supplies being accepted:

• Sterile and non-sterile gloves (latex-free preferred)
• Hand sanitizer
• Bleach bottles or sprays
• Bleach wipes
• Isopropyl alcohol
• Eye protection and goggles
• Clear face shields (translucent)
• Masks with tie/ear loop (no cloth masks will be accepted)
• Respirator masks — N95, N99, P100 (extra filters are also needed for these devices)
• PAPR respirators — 3M or MaxAir (hoods, filters, batteries, chargers, tubes to go with these units are also needed)
• Disposable isolation gowns
• Shoe covers
• Biohazard bags 

Project C.U.R.E. has been shipping medical supplies and equipment internationally for more than 30 years, working in over 130 countries. With the onset of the coronavirus, Project C.U.R.E. shifted focus to distribute supplies domestically.
