Former state Sen. Martin Sandoval pleads guilty to bribery and tax fraud after accepting more than $250,000 in bribes. Sandoval has agreed to cooperate with related federal investigations as part of his plea agreement.

The Archdiocese of Chicago enters into a 10-year agreement with the nonprofit Big Shoulders Fund to pump more than $90 million into 30 Catholic schools, located primarily on Chicago’s South and West sides.
