Advocate Medical Group is closing immediate care clinics at seven Chicago-area Walgreens stores next month.

The largest local physicians group said in a letter to the Illinois Nurses Association that patient volumes at the locations have become unsustainable. It notes that communities’ health care needs are well met by other providers.

Walgreens says it’s not looking for another provider to take over the seven clinics, located in Carol Stream, Joliet, Naperville, Oak Park, River Forest, Sycamore and Yorkville. And Advocate will continue operating 48 clinics at other Walgreens stores.
