‘Entertaining Chicago’ Revisits City’s Classic Nightspots

Chicago has a thriving live music scene today. But many legendary venues like Mister Kelly’s, Chez Paree, Club DeLisa and the Gate of Horn are long gone. Those nightclubs and others were once vibrant and important stops on the circuit for the nation’s top performers.

It’s called “Entertaining Chicago: Remembering the Places, Performers and Stories Throughout the 20th Century,” published by Chicago Books Press. It includes interviews with many performers and others who were part of that scene.

Samors and Dauber join “Chicago Tonight” in conversation.
