Twenty-nine-year-old Keith Watley, of East Chicago, Indiana, was charged Thursday with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Carlos Posadas.

Posadas, 22, was reportedly working on a green Honda Accord near an auto parts store on the 200 block of West 87th Street just after 3 p.m. Monday when police say Watley intentionally struck Posadas with his black Ford pickup truck, killing him.

Chicago police say the two men knew each other, and Watley was identified by numerous eyewitnesses.

Posadas was pronounced dead on the scene. Watley attempted to flee the scene and was later apprehended by police. He is scheduled for a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building on Thursday.
