Emanuel Stuns Chicago, Rocks Mayor’s Race

Last Thursday, one of City Hall’s most prominent and respected reporters, Fran Spielman of the Chicago Sun-Times, wrote about the possibility that Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel might not seek a third term. When asked for reaction to Spielman’s story, an insider in the mayor’s office told Chicago Tonight political reporter Paris Schutz last week that Emanuel was 99 percent definitely running.

Either the insider did not know, did not tell us what they did know or, maybe that 1-percent probability turned into the longshot outcome.
