City’s Top Cop on Crime and Policing in Chicago


There was news Thursday in the public standoff over whether to fire Chicago police Officer Robert Rialmo who fatally shot a Chicago teenager with a baseball bat, as well as an innocent bystander. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability says he should be fired, but Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says no, the shooting was justified. 

Because the stalemate is unresolved the question goes to a single member of the Chicago Police Board. That person has not been named and will be randomly chosen.
