Emily Graslie’s New Podcast Explores Science Through Storytelling

Emily Graslie has held the unique job title of Chief Curiosity Correspondent at the Field Museum since 2013. In this role, she creates entertaining science videos about everything from wolf dissections to exploring why King Tut had a flat head as part of her YouTube series “The Brain Scoop.” Her enthusiasm has helped open the world of science (and museums!) to thousands of people worldwide.

Lately, Graslie has been exploring the world of podcasting. In January, she traveled to the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin, Germany, where she asked people to share their memorable experiences in museums and the natural world for her new podcast “ExploreAStory.”

She emphasizes the importance of natural history museums working together.

“We just started partnering with other museums to help give an opportunity to these other institutions to reach a new audience through ‘Brain Scoop,’” Graslie said.

Graslie joins us to talk about promoting science around the world.
