The play, which follows two young Mormon missionaries on their quest to convert villagers in a small town in Uganda, has won seven Tony Awards and a Grammy since debuting on Broadway in 2011. The Book of Mormon is being performed at the Bank of America Theater through September. Tickets range from $67 to $367 per seat. Learn more about the show here. Purchase tickets here. The Mikado and Pirates of Penzance

The Hypocrites' productions of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas -- The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance -- are the hot new thing in storefront theater. The two productions are presented in promenade style, which means there is no fixed seating and the audience physically moves around the space with the actors. Guests are encouraged to drink and make merry with the performers, creating a unique environment to enjoy the two comic operas. The Mikado has a benefit performance and party this Friday at 7:30 pm with tickets ranging from $60 to $100. All weekend shows are sold out except for a performance of The Pirates of Penzance on Sunday, January 13 at 7:30 pm for $28 a ticket. The performances take place at the Chopin Theatre, which is NOT wheelchair accessible. Learn more about the Hypocrites here. Buy tickets here. The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs by Mike Daisey, directed and performed by Lance Baker

The one-man show made famous for its previously debunked claims about the working conditions of an Apple factory in China is back, molded into a newer, “ethically made” production. This version of Mike Daisey’s The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, different than the one famously featured on WBEZ’s This American Life in 2012, is directed and performed by Lance Baker and has been hailed by The New York Times as “even more powerful, funny, and engaging" than the original. The show is being performed at the 16th Street Theater and runs until February 9. The VIP opening is Friday, January 11 at 7:30 pm. There are shows on Saturday, January 12 at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets are $18. Buy tickets here. Read about the controversy.
